Indiana University – Neurosciences Research Building
The Indiana University – Neurosciences Research Building is a five story 138,000 sf building that provides research space for psychiatry, neurology, and basic neuroscience research. The project, which is located directly on the southwest corner of 16th Street and Senate, is a continuation of the School of Medicine and Indiana University’s focus on expansion and strengthening the biomedical and life sciences research capacity of the university.
Civil engineering and sitework challenges included complex phasing and significant utility infrastructure design to support construction of this laboratory-research building on a compact site in a busy downtown environment. New utility services and relocations included steam, storm sanitary, electric, gas, and telecommunications. This project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
